- 137: GOES, Site 5, Mon 20-Oct-2003 08:56:59 EDT, st5: Goes Swapped
10/19/03 13:35-14:55
Station was 'down' per GOES data.
Visited site: still running but old SE110 transmitter at 2W output.
Swapped in repaired SE120 and station back on air.
SDR/Metppf retrieved and merged in later in day.
Kh2oV at ~0v however we had lots of rain overnight and drizzle
while there so we didn't consider it a problem.
DCOM332 - EVE problem?
after 'starting' when replacing goesid (ie from s05_0110.xmt
to s05_0120.xmt) the bootup failed claiming:
'unable to open krypton.dat'
even though it was there. Played around a bit and had
to perform a 'reboot' using the hard-pulled reset line low.
That worked.
ie teardown note: this cpu may have some intermittent on
the ramdisk. I'll slap in a note on the notes.

10/14 13:35-15:00
Krypton:Lowered mast, cleaned Kr, ~400mv before; ~800mv after
Rad: Cleaned Soldn and Netrad
Tsfc: cleaned out a bit of spider web inside viewing port
Soil: Trime measurement made, prongs would only penetrate 3/4 way
Trime = 13.2
Corer would only penetrate 4 cm. Core taken 2cm - 4 cm
Alignments:
Boom angles sighted with Datascope but as Battery low sighting compass used
RMY boom = 187 degrees, Sonic boom = 97 (looking at it) degrees
Data: Metppf and SDR data downloaded
RG: Manual test OK, gauge was clean
GOES: time OK.
Did not replace GOES transmitter because backplane mounting plate
doesn't have nutcerts for SE120 and it has been working OK with
the old SE110 unit anyway.
- 117: Site_visit, Site 5, Mon 13-Oct-2003 17:13:02 EDT, St5: kh2oV checked
Arrive 14:35
Purpose: check for low kh2oV which had been seen in plots.
Did not have the spare GOES transmitter and merely checked Kr voltage = 500mv.
Decided against lowering mast to clean Kr. Will return soon

Having trouble copying latest metppf file, metppf.263 to /card;
EVE continues to reboot (which automatically copies latest metppf
file anyway). Did a dir /card and EVE again rebooted;
problem with PCMCIA card?
Tried a second time for dir /card; another reboot.
Downloaded local storage and now EVE is behaving normally again.
I can do a dir /card and there is no reboot.
Grabbed fastout.
