50: Logistics, Site 4, Sun 19-Oct-1997 14:55:57 GMT, New config at station 4, fmt0051
Since Gordon has gotten the software going two problems
have become apparent at all sites: (1) the TRH sensor has
a spike about every 2 hours, and (2) the compass data is not
being computed correctly. The compass problem appears to be
a scaling factor error. The TRH is unknown at this time.
A new configuration was downloaded last night at station 4
which was an attempt to correct both problems. Unfortunately
it did not work out.
We tried to configure the TRH as a serial sensor in broadcast
mode instead of the sensor bus mode since it is the only sensor
on the bus. EVE did not like the change and is rejecting data.
The sensor looks ok. Since the data is being rejected we can not
confirm if the compass correction is working.

58: Logistics, Site , Tue 21-Oct-1997 05:02:41 GMT, Freewave link in Nav room moved
The Frewwave link in the NAV room was sitting on a
power supply. It was mentioned to Gordon that the supply
was making a lot of noise the other night. He decided to
move it. This may help communication. We will monitor.

66: Logistics, Site 4, Thu 23-Oct-1997 01:20:02 GMT, Florida, station 4 moved
We moved station 4 about 100 yds to the east. It is now an operational
station and should not be used for testing without PI approval.
Still need angles for compass and sonic boom.

Numbers from Ed Andreas:

Sonic height: 3.48m
Height of aspirator on TRH: 1.73m
Compass orientation: 263deg (true north)

69: Logistics, Site 1, Fri 24-Oct-1997 14:15:36 GMT, Marked trail to station 1, Atlanta
Jeff, Tanell, nad UI went out to station 1 late yesterday.
We added additional trail markers.

72: Logistics, Site base, Fri 24-Oct-1997 14:58:09 GMT, Antenna cable check
The 200ft RF cable was put in series with the existing
cable to do a check. It appears to be ok; however, the additional
loss did effect communication with stations 2 and 3.

76: Logistics, Site 3, Sat 25-Oct-1997 01:54:48 GMT, Possible move for Baltimore
Because of the crak n the airport runway a new site
has been selected for the airport. It will be near
Baltimore whic may mean we have to move the station. I
do not see a decision being made until the runway is in.

81: Logistics, Site 2, Sat 25-Oct-1997 23:55:49 GMT, Attempt to station 2
Ed, Gordon, and I tried to get to station 2 this
afternoon. There was a possible place to cross the
lead and we hope to try it tomorrow.

90: Logistics, Site base, Tue 28-Oct-1997 15:36:34 GMT, Base antenna moved
The base antenna was moved up the forward mast about another 20 ft.
Reception has improved.

348: Logistics, Site 4, Wed 01-Apr-1998 21:26:24 AKST, Florida moved
Florida was moved to 40 m NW of met hut and about 280 deg from met tower. It is about 35 m west of the tower radiometers. The orientation of the sonic is at
360 deg true and the T/RH is at 86 deg true. The sled is nearly due south
from the tripod, and the radiometer arm is to the southwest. Cleveland will be
placed between Florida and the tower radiometers for comparisons. A more
precise map will be made tomorrow, as other instruments (sodar, PRT,
General Eastern) have been or need to be moved due to contamination from
the new large generator.

The Gill sonic head was rotated so N arrow is now due north by removing two of
the three set screws, since the N arrow was originally about 10-15 deg off
(CCW viewed from the top) from the sonic arm.
