69: SOUNDING, Site ISS2-Revelle, Fri 28-Oct-2011 06:51:42 GMT, 06Z sounding issues
the 06Z sounding was launched in light rain, heading for heavy precip (according to X-soap). lost PTH early on - around 600mb, after balloon took heavy pounding but winds were still present and flew balloon to burst per chief scientist

Around 550mb sonde went awry sending back erroneous data plots and it resumed at a higher pressure and went back up and then sank for quite a while. It could have been an icing problem, however, we think it was more likely a hard rain problem because the temps reported were only subfreezing briefly and then much warmer temps were reported while it was still sinking. We have let the sonde run it's course and after making it through the rain it seems to be rising and reporting normally.

49: SOUNDING, Site ISS2-Revelle, Thu 13-Oct-2011 04:14:54 GMT, system locked up during 03Z sounding
Gaus system locked up during 03Z sounding - lost telemetry at about 225 mb
41: SOUNDING, Site ISS2-Revelle, Thu 06-Oct-2011 12:39:06 GMT, radiosonde temp/humidity issues
I've noticed this for the last day or two- it's getting harder to find a spot on the deck where the sonde is happy - late morning to early afternoon. It has been mostly sunny for the last couple of days and the deck seems to be superheating, which drives the sonde temp up and the humidity levels down, so I am experiencing higher temps and lower humidities than the surface met is reporting. I've been moving the sonde to different places (looking for open, breezy, shaded places) but there are difficulties with so much activiy on the deck finding a spot out of the way.
37: SOUNDING, Site ISS2-Revelle, Tue 04-Oct-2011 07:46:27 GMT, lost telemetry on 06Z sonde
lost the telemetry on the 06Z sonde just after launch
had a good sat lock and data stream input at the time to go fill the balloon,
launch was the best so far on this leg of the cruise - no issues with wind, the ballon went straight up, no jarring of the sonde etc., but still no signal upon return to the lab. tried to reaquire sonde to no avail.
launched second sonde aprox. 20 min later (this sonde had trouble aquiring gps lock and telemetry prior to launch but as soon as I removed the sonde from the asspirator, the lock came right in.
that was the last sonde in the box.

35: SOUNDING, Site ISS2-Revelle, Mon 03-Oct-2011 23:35:16 GMT, 00Z Report for Tues Oct 4
Clear skies and light winds throughout the night. 21Z sounding went off without problems, but the 00Z sounding lost satellite signal before launch and didn't get it back until 900mb level. Decided with supervisor not to relaunch.
