262: rain, Site 1, Fri 11-Aug-2006 15:23:06 MST, Rain gauge not working
Rain guage not working due to electric shock.
261: radiation, Site 1, Fri 11-Aug-2006 15:19:55 MST, Rnet hookup
The Rnet was hooked up at 11:34 MST, but was wired backwards for a few minutes
before that. Later entered the calibration coefficient for the new Rnet at
12:24 MST, changed values from 9.66 to 9.00 and 11.81 to 11.18.
260: TRH, Site 1, Fri 11-Aug-2006 15:15:06 MST, TRH hookup
Hooked up TRH at 11:00 but logger not hooked up until 11:02. Fan had a peculiar sound with not enough velocity. Dismounted TRH at 11:47 to inspect and the fan
blade came off the mount. Glued back on, but the fan still sounds wimpy. The TRH
was back up at 12:19.
258: LOG, Site 1, Fri 11-Aug-2006 15:00:40 MST, station visit, site 1, August 11

sensor at 12:24
-Rain gauge has failed from electric shock

247: LOG, Site 1, Wed 09-Aug-2006 21:15:57 MST, Station visit, site 1, Aug 9
Arrived Aug 9 10:17 MST, Oncley, Maclean

Station in bad shape after last nights storm.

Net radiometer head blown out from apparent lightning strike.

Blown fuse on charge controller board. Swapped in fuse from
second charge circuit - immediately blew again.

Data box #9 interface panels show electrical arc-ing damage on
ttyS3 (goes) and ttyS5 (logger) ports. Putting power to this box
blows fuses on the charge controller.

Removed box 9, swapped in spare box 8.

Barometer OK. Prop vane OK.

TRH sent bad data for a short period:
TRH08 with a T=39.94, RH=1.05, V=0 (wrong)
then reported the values typical of a A2D lockup:
T=210, RH=257

Eventually would report the following after being plugged in:

TRH System Initialization Complete
A/D not responding

and then nothing. Removed it for repair.

Installed 7.5 A fuse on load circuit of charge controller.

Serial connector on logger box looks fried. Voltmeter
reported shorts between ground and most other pins.
Removed logger for repair.

GOES transceiver not responding. SE 110, SN 1007.

Installed GOES SE 120, SN 3515.

Someone helped themselves to the step ladder which was
left beside the road while Steve drove
to Oracle for fuses and Gordon was at the site.

Station status: station transmitting and archiving,
  prop vane OK, barometer OK.
no T, RH, Vbatt, Rnet or Rainr data while sensors are repaired.

Left 12:45.

Later found that the usbdisk from this station is not
readable. The light on the drive does not come on
when it is inserted. The last data from the last
disk swap was Aug 4 22:33, so it looks like data
about 5 days of archive data has been lost from this station.

222: rain, Site 1, Fri 04-Aug-2006 18:32:30 MST, test rain tips
1558 - 3 test rain gauge tips.

Swapped in model 110. Tranmission power 12 Watts.

Plan to install 1200 at a site nearer Tucson, like 7.

167: LOG, Site 1, Mon 24-Jul-2006 23:03:20 MDT, Station 1 site visit

Top wire of electric fence had been knocked off a post.
Straightened out wire and posts. Hand-tested electric
fence.

Swapped usbdisk.

Left 14:40 MST

12: data-system, Site 1, Sun 02-Jul-2006 20:40:10 MDT, st1 Visit: data system / goes
2Jul06, 12:50-14:50 MST

Purpose: station down

Data System:
A USB failure caused the station to go down, not goes.

Yesterday, a new xml was installed but the station has been down since our visit.

Data system reported that the new usb disk was "Write Protected" and could not write to it: Lexar #12.
Checked it back at aster: nothing unusual with file protections EXCEPT:
I had put a copy of the new cupido.xml on it via root account.....doubt that
would be a problem and there were a couple of data files on it.

Swapped in Cruzer #1 and removed Lexar #12.

Rebooted and everything fine.

GOES:
Still need to reposition the antenna and pv's more, but there was a
good 10W output per the wattmeter and the angle looks close enough.

5: TRH, Site 1, Sat 01-Jul-2006 22:07:17 MDT, st1 Visit: TRH / new xml
7/1/06 13:30-15:35 local

Purpose: TRH down, intermittent goes, new xml file

Data System:
- Initial checkout: showed data was being collected but the trh was once again in a strange mode.
Swapped TRH and also DISCOVERED A BAD SERIAL CABLE to the TRH.

goes
- ck_goes: ok. Greg repositioned the antenna and stabilized it in hopes of improving the spotty reception. Instead the station went down shortly afterwards.

Note: wildfire a couple of miles on a ridge to the south towards 2/3.

- installed new xml file:
- swapped usb: cruzer #512-2 out; lexar #512-12 in
- bootup OK
- data_stats: OK
- weep hole added

ToDo:
Elec. Fence:	Cows in area and no fence. However they already have much
to rub up against so hopefully they won't bother the
		station, and haven't so far.
