Leaving the system for a few days.
13 Feb, 1920UT.
Put MAPR into a slower data collection mode, with shorter times series (256pts),
and longer dwells (1 minute). Cor files only.
Will probably collect less than 2GB per day.
Parameter file schedule: windless mode: windmodeless
- 66: RADAR, Site Steamboat, Tue 13-Feb-2001 18:45:59 GMT, MAPR : sounding and tests
Did extra RASS runs for 13 Feb 1655UT sounding
RASS runs at 1630, 1700, 1730.
Saw sounding balloon on MAPR - use for height calibration.
Flight was almost straight up for first 1 km.
Note Glass PC clock running 65 seconds fast.

- 63: RADAR, Site Steamboat, Tue 13-Feb-2001 05:14:34 GMT, MAPR locked up - reboot
MAPR locked up again. Seemed to happen gradually.
Last data processed by FCA collected about 0320UT - this file started about
5 minutes late for some reason. Then brief periods of data collected
intermittently over next couple of hours.
About 9:20pm (0420UT), tried to log in from hotel, could connect to armiss,
but not to mapr.
Arrived at 10:03pm to find clock stuck at 9:59pm, and stuck in winds mode
(should have been in rass).
Did hard reset 10:10pm (0510UT) and restarted mapr process.
Restarted okay.
Oscilloscope showed piraq was still running (well still transmitting
and showing gate pulses) thru the stall, and reboot, until near end of
reboot process when it was reset.
/var/log/messages showed several messages over couple of hours before boot
"mapr kernel: stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)"

Various MAPR ops
Feb 13
0:15UT shutdown for several minutes to clear snow & ice from radome,
only a thin coating. No change in VSWR (2.7:1)
RASS TEST *********
1:00-1:05 RASS, acoustic source was DBS system
1:05-1:10 RASS, acoutic source was Charlie's card
matched output voltages - 15V AC on amp output
also matched temperature ranges -20C to +10C
Both sources gave clear RASS signal to 600m.
DBS perhaps slightly cleaner at 600m.
HIGH RESOLN TEST *********

1:15-1:20 High resoln wind mode (50m) first gate 200m

1:25-1:30 """"""""""""""""""""""""""" first gate 200m
1:30- back to std winds mode
Difficult to tell if there was any change when the first gate changed
in high resoln mode - perhaps there was lifting up of an apparent
layer, but need more tests.
PULSE CODE TEST *********
1:45-1:50 Std winds mode - 4 bit code
1:50-1:55 1 bit code
1:55- 4 bit code

With the thaw of the snow under the antenna the last few days,
it has developed a tilt of about 0.6 degrees towards the southwest.
If there is a 10m/s wind to or from that direction, it will
leak into the vertical motion by about 0.1 m/s.
Will try to fix this.

The MAPR shutdown about 13UT (6am) - called Mike.
Eventually discovered that for some unknown reason the blanking at the
TX was on.
Pushed the RF CTL button on the TX (turning off the blanking light)
and it started working again - from about 1730 UT.
FO (power out on laptop) started out at 105-108% jumping around a little,
an hour or so later it was 116%, then later it settled at 124%.
Meter on TX was flucuating slightly at about 3/4 FSD, but later settled at FSD.
VSWR is 2.6
Voltage at banana plugs on back of TX 2.385V.

Did extra RASS runs around time of sounding at 1645, 1700, 1715 UT,
back to hourly RASS afterwards, (accidently had speakers unplugged 19UT run,
so did another run at 1907UT).
Around launch time there was light snow, however it cleared soon after.
Sounding showed inversion from about 500m to about 1km.
There is cloud/fog from about half way up mountain to
(according to Randy at the peak lab) just below the peaks.
Took photos of this fog at 11:30am.
Last night about 2 inchs of snow fell.
Can see sonde on MAPR 2 hour plots around launch.
Maybe able to use for height calibration, but note that GLASS PC clock
is running about 55 seconds fast.
Did some high resolution tests on MAPR 2215 - 2230.
