64: temp_rh, Site , Mon 27-Nov-2000 17:47:13 NZDT, new 4.8 TRH height
The 4.8 TRH was measured at 4.65 m.

56: temp_rh, Site , Sun 26-Nov-2000 14:57:20 NZDT, NEW TRH heights
I remeasured the heights of the 3 lower sensors.
The measurement was made out at the inlet, not the
tower support. Based on these numbers, the true heights
of the upper sensors need to be reduced by ~20cm.
The reason for this is the snow level at the tower
was deeper due to wind effects. The .5m did not change
because I mounted it after the IC test.

channel height (old)
--------------------------------------
202 .5 m .5m
203 .93m 1.1m
204 2.1m 2.3m
205 4.6m 4.8m
206 10.1m 10.3m
207 21.8m 22.0m

44: temp_rh, Site , Sat 25-Nov-2000 13:21:42 NZDT, Moving to profile format
Marty and I started moving the TRH sensors
to the profile format. This started at about
12:40 local.

42: temp_rh, Site , Sat 25-Nov-2000 09:03:03 NZDT, TRH intercomparison results
Unfortunately, the ironic went down.
Based on the data collected from 17:00
11/24 to 12:00 11/25 (local), the TRH sensors
from ground level to 10.3 meters are within 0.05
C. The worst case for the 22m is about .1C with respect
to 2.3m.
Note, the adam did go down from 2:00 to 9:00 local.

36: temp_rh, Site , Fri 24-Nov-2000 16:51:27 NZDT, sensor placement for TRH profile
The final TRH sensor configuration is:

Height Serial #	chammel #
0.5 m 101 202
1.0 m 104 203
2.3 m 704 204
4.8 m 007 205
10.3 m 703 206
22.0 m 502 207

34: temp_rh, Site , Fri 24-Nov-2000 15:43:59 NZDT, Switched TRH704 and TRH502
The TRH profile is looking pretty good. Over the last 4 hours
the max temperature difference is about .06C. I decided to change
two sensor locations just to see if the long boom has any effect.
I changed 2.3m with 1.1m. We should consider these sensors in their
final locations.

31: temp_rh, Site , Fri 24-Nov-2000 10:39:59 NZDT, 22m, 702 replaced with 007
Replaced TRH702 with TRH007 at about 10:30 local.

One item of interest is the radiation inlet tube on
TRH702 has most of its white paint peeled off. It appears
the paint used on this tube does not like the cold. Anyway
maybe this has something to do with the lower temperatures.
If 007 looks good, I will try changing inlet tubes.

30: temp_rh, Site , Fri 24-Nov-2000 09:41:16 NZDT, Intercomparison layout
The intercomparison array layout:

Height is .93 m

Going from the far end of the tower toward the building:
0.5, 1.0, 22, 10.3, 4.8, 2.3

27: temp_rh, Site , Fri 24-Nov-2000 09:16:40 NZDT, T intercomparison
The TRHs have been in a intercomparison more for the last
20 hours. Using R and plotdat.ts I looked at the differences
between them. Most of the time it is within +- 0.05C. The sensor
in location 22m, TRH702, reads low compared to everybody else.
I do not think it is a location issue because it is located in
the middle of the IC array. The sensor on the long boom, TRH 502,
is in the middle of the difference plot so I believe the longer
boom is not affecting the measurement.
Since Marty is not ready, I am going to replace sensor 702, 22m, with
a spare unit.

26: temp_rh, Site , Thu 23-Nov-2000 15:44:21 NZDT, TRH serial numbers and heights
Here are the TRH serial numbers and heights

s/n height
-----------------------------
101 .5 m
704 .93m
502 2.3m
104 4.8m
703 10.3m
702 22.0m

13: temp_rh, Site , Tue 21-Nov-2000 09:32:40 NZDT, TRH data rate update
Changing the data rate of the TRH to 2 saeconds did not
help the throughput. I have changed the 8 channel Ironic
to the 16 channel board. TRH data rates have been changed
back to 1 sec.

12: temp_rh, Site , Tue 21-Nov-2000 08:28:47 NZDT, data rate changed on TRH sensors
The throughput on the IRONIC 8 channel board is
too slow. The data rate from the sonics is 19HZ
not 20HZ. Gordon believes this is due to the
interrupt handling on the board. As a test I decided
to slow down the data rate from the TRH units to
2 secs. It would be best if we could change the
baud rate of the TRH but that is not possible to
do on the fly.

11: temp_rh, Site , Mon 20-Nov-2000 23:02:59 NZDT, Boom setup on TRH
I decided to use a short boom at the 22m height since we
were missing one long TRH boom. At the 1m height the intercomparison
bar was mounted so the 1m TRH will be attached to this structure. A long
boom will be used here. At this time I do not see the need to change
this boom to a short one. We will see what the intercomparison shows.
