S-Pol Data Users' Guide: Introduction

S-Pol MAP Italy, 1999

MAP is the international Mesoscale Alpine Programme, an observational and modelling study of atmospheric phenomena over the Alps in the region bordered by Italy, Switzerland, France and Austria. The S-Pol component of MAP was sponsored by the US National Science Foundation (NSF).

This summary deals with use of NCAR's S-Pol radar, including periods of operation, status of data processing, summary information available, and issues concerning data quality.
