Throughout the DYNAMO experiment, S-Pol collected small periods of data for use in special data quality procedures. For the most part, those data sets are not available in the reprocessed/recalibrated distribution data sets, and must be recovered from the original, unprocessed/un-altered archived data. For example, S-Pol used vertical pointing scans to compile information on Zdr bias; those data have little utility for scientific use, and it is not desireable to alter the data in a way that might obscure the audit trail of a QC data set. Therefore, the vertical pointing scans are not included in the final data set. The same is true of solar scans and scans during periods of simultaneous H/V transmission (a very limited data set).
The special data collections were performed either for quality assurance or development of new techniques. The data are available upon request to the EOL radar science team.
Solar scans were done on an "opportunity available" basis, generally when there were no weather echoes of interest. The scans were done to check radar pointing, and to check general calibration through monitoring solar power in the S- and Ka bands.

These scans were taken prior to the 1-Oct-2011 start date of the experiment, and during the dry period at the end of the experiment (2012-01-06).
There was a single episode of Simultaneous H/V data collection at about 0100 UTC on 2012-01-16.
Timeseries data were collected for short time periods. Time series data collection did not interfere with normal scanning and data collection periods, so there are generally scans in the final data set that correspond to the periods of time series collection.
Time series data are available upon special request to the EOL radar group.
Timeseries data were logged for solar scans, simultaneous H/V transmission, vertical pointing, and a number of cases to build-up a library of interesting phenomena.
