The following table gives basic descriptions of some of the terms used in this document.
Click | Press the left mouse button and release quickly. |
Pointer | A small arrow or other cursor symbol that moves on the screen when the mouse is moved. |
Drag | Hold a mouse button down and move the mouse at the same time. |
Release | Let the mouse button pop back up so that the button is no longer pressed. |
Highlighted | A menu item or text whose background and foreground colors are switched (invert), such as when the mouse pointer moves over it or a mouse button is clicked on it. |
Icon | A small symbol on the screen |
Button | One of the three buttons on the mouse |
Menu | A list from which one or more items can be chosen. |
Scrollbar | A region attached to the side of a window that allows you to scroll window text backwards and forwards (or up and down) using the mouse. |
