Contents of RDP Archive Tape "Details" Files

For most tapes in the NCAR RDP data tape archive, there is a file detailing the exact contents of that tape. These "detail" files are available on-line through our WebServer, and can also be made available for access via anonymous ftp.

The information in the "details" files can often be used to extract specific information from a tape (e.g., recovery of tar files for specific platform types), or to ensure that the data on the tape meet certain specific requirements (e.g., was a radar scanning in the proper area, at the correct elevation and PRF during your time of concern?). The "details" files are often quite long!

When viewing a list of radar data tapes, if the "details" file corresponding to those tapes contain radar scan information, the in-line image: will appear; click on this "button" to view the scan information for the particular tape of concern. If this is not a radar data tape, a simple icon will appear.
