The following horizon information was compiled by Bob Bowie for the CP4 site in WISP94, near South Roggen, CO. Information was obtained using a theodolite. The theodolite was placed on the extreme southeast end of the CP4 antenna pedestal van, and leveled. Note that all direction readings are in azimuth from magnetic north; all elevation angles are positive (above the horizon), unless otherwise noted. In general, the CP4 site had an unobstructed field of view, with the radar sitting in a depresion (or "bowl") with the visual horizon at a range of about 15-20 km (exception: mountains to the west). See clutter images for more graphic detail. For photos of the horizon, see associated gif images. Magnetic Az.
