Towers Invarient with Elevation Angle

Two towers are shown in the
figure at right. The parameter displayed is received power (dBm) in a
PPI scan at elevations of 1.5°, 1.3° and 1.1°. Note
that as scan elevation angle changes, the position of these towers
remains invarient. Other small, discrete echoes also remain in the
same location, but it was not possible to positively identify those
echoes as specific hard targets. Numerous echoes disappear or seem to
move when the elevation angle changes; these echoes may be aircraft or
birds, or may simply be too short to be seen with increasing elevation
angle.
