Full Name: Quantum Cascade Laser Spectrometer
Short Name or Acronym: QCLS
Model if applicable:
Measurements Provided: CO2, CO, CH4, N2O
Manufacturer or Builder of the Instrument: Steve Wofsy, Harvard University
When Acquired: 2009
Operational Status:
General Description:
Measurement Characteristics:
Calibration Methods: in-flight calibration uses standards carried in gas cylinders
History of Significant Changes to the Instrument:
Description of Software, Data Handling, and Data Flow: To date (2011), data have been handled by the developing PI from recording internal to the instrument, but real-time measurements are also provided to the GV data system and are archived with standard data files.
Software Components (data acquisition, display, processing, and analysis):
Data Processing Chain (from flight to archival): For RAF, measurements are handled like any other in the standard data set, recorded on the data system files and then included in the resulting data files as the measurements CO2_QLIVE, CH4_QLIVE, CO_QLIVE, and N2O_QLIVE. Final processing may need merger of revised measurements into the data files.
