All instruments in forward rack get air from one inlet. Valves A, B, and C are used to select one air source for instruments in the racks. Instrumentation piping inside of boxes is not shown.

NOTE- piping was changed and instruments were added between flights. Several diagrams are presented here.

Wyoming heated inlet:

  • tip is 3/8" i.d. Isokinetic flow at tip requires 470 vLPM for airspeed of 110 m/s.
  • stainless steel tube 1" o.d. 0.875" i.d.

Insertion tube in heat-exchange tee:

  • stainless steel 1/4" o.d., 0.177" i.d. (isokinetic ??)

Aluminum tubing:

  • 1/4" o.d., 0.186" i.d.
  • 3/8" o.d., 0.305" i.d.
