The
hotel is located south of town right next to the beach about 30 minutes from
the
airport,
and a short drive (or 20-minute walk) to the downtown area. The hotel is rated as a 3 Star hotel
and has 114 room
(14 suites, 80 rooms of various sizes, and 20 cabanas)
distributed over two floors. The size and quality of the rooms varies.
The
décor is somewhat outdated, but overall the rooms are clean and
well-maintained.
The
food is excellent and is served in the restaurant as well as the bar. The breakfast buffet
is open from 6:00 am to 10:30 am
and is included in the room cost.
The
hotel has a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a fitness center (currently being
remodeled), as well as a game room and miniature golf.

4-Star Hotel is in the center of town right next to Arica's casino and the
University of Tarapacá.
There are 81 rooms; twenty-four of those are brand new
with tasteful décor, new furniture, and they all face the swimming pool,
whereas the remaining rooms do show their age. The hotel is about 15 minutes
from the airport, and a short drive to the
VOCALS Operations Center at the
Hotel Arica.
WiFi
is available throughout the hotel.

Radisson Hotel is located at the south end of Iquique, 30-35 minutes drive from
Diego Aracena Airport and
right next door to the GAUS launch site at the Universidad
Arturo Prat Marine Sciences Campus.
NCAR / EOL will establish a data center and provide Internet
connectivity for VOCALS participants at the GAUS launch site.
