The 8th VAMOS panel meeting will take place in Mexico City DF, Mexico, during the 7-9th of March, 2005.  The Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) will be the host of the event  (http://smn.cna.gob.mx)

Airport Transportation: 


Taxis

The official airport taxis are available after exiting the baggage claim area, near the far end of Lounge A, and E, right next to the arrival gates in 2 (side-by-side) special booths marked TAXI/TRANSPORTACION TERRESTRE (Ground transportation). They are staffed by personnel wearing bright-yellow jackets emblazoned with TAXI AUTORIZADO (authorized taxi). One taxi company will be yellow with a white taxi light on the roof, and an airport symbol painted on the doors.

Buy your ticket from the clearly marked taxi counters inside the terminal and tell the ticket seller your hotel or destination. Ticket prices are fixed, based on a zone system and depending on the number of passengers. Prices to the meeting's hotels (Zone 4) should be approximately $130MXP (~$12 USD); for a larger group, you can ask for a "Suburban" Executive taxi which costs $240MXP (~$22USD). The taxi counter will accept Mexican Pesos, US Dollars or credit cards.After purchasing your ticket, go outside to the line of taxis where an official taxi "chief" will direct you to the next taxi in line. Present your ticket to the driver. Travel time to downtown Mexico City is about 35 minutes. Travelers at Mexico City International Airport should only employ official airport taxis, since taxi-related crime is a serious concern. For safety and comfort, do not get in an unmarked or independent cab.

      There will be a bus to pick up in front of the Hotel Bristol and return to the hotel after each day's sessions. See tentative schedule below. The bus will begin loading 15 minutes prior to departure.
