Photos were taken from the catwalk, just beneath the S-Pol antenna. The camera used was a Canon PowerShot AS590IS. First photo was taken toward the west, with the image sequence taken in a W-N-E-S-W direction. Photos were joined into the panorama using the Autostitch software (freeware version; see http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html )
Direction markers are somewhat approximate, and are likely accurate to only about the nearest 1-degree (the north arrow seems to be misplaced by -0.6 degrees). Directions were determined by first aligning the S-Pol antenna (solar pointing/alignment procedure), then pointing the antenna in each of the cardinal directions. Paint marks were placed on the ground at about 100 meters from the antenna, after sighting back toward the bore of the antenna (West and North directions). The East direction was determined by watching sunrise on the day of the equinox. Note that the mark for the southern direction is at an interpolated position, once the panorama was assembled.
