- (iv) proposed future studies that need coordination among different groups
- (v) suggestions for the next phase of research

Session objective: To have a synthesized view of this MJO event from all observing platform, models, and large-scale diagnostics, and to prepare observational data for an international model case study focusing on this case using GCMs, CRMs, and LAMs.

11:00 am - 12:30 pm: Plenary Session 9: Way forward (Chair: Chuck Long)
Session objective: Discusses research topics that need further attention and coordinated efforts
Possible topics:
- Enhancing observation-modeling integration
- Observational need for theory development
- Compare the Indian Ocean to the western Pacific and Maritime Continent

2:00 - 5:30 pm: Plenary Session 10: Wrap-up (Chair: Chidong Zhang)
Session objective:
- (i) update status of data QC, archive, and release
- (ii) summarize the main outcome of the workshop;
- (iii) list action items to move forward post-field research;
- (iv) make recommendations to funding agencies regarding the best way to support post-field research.
