Shipping Instructions from Salina, KS to Palmdale, CA
(SEAC4RS Air Shipment to Thailand)

This shipment will be for any aircraft or science equipment that was used during DC3 and therefore could not be shipped in advance on the sea shipments. NCAR will be responsible for shipping equipment needed for SEAC4RS from Salina to NASA/DAOF to be added to the air shipment to Thailand. This shipment will be open to all investigators associated with the GV and the DC8. NCAR will stage equipment at the Salina Airport. The trucks will leave from Salina on Tuesday, 3 July and arrive at NASA DAOF on 6 July.

Please note:
  1. Any equipment you plan on sending from Salina to Palmdale to make the Thailand air shipment will need to be properly packed, labeled and itemized by Monday, 2 July.
  2. Since this is an international shipment, a complete inventory of all equipment will be needed for foreign customs using the NASA-provided template. Please list equipment per box or crate and provide as much detail as possible.
  3. Shipping lists will have to be emailed to NASA (Quincy Allison) and NCAR (Kerry Slaven) by Monday, 2 July.
  4. A list of all hazmat material & compressed cylinders, including the appropriate MSDS, must be emailed to NASA (Quincy Allison) and NCAR (Kerry Slaven) by Monday, 2 July.
  5. All hazmat must be packed separately from other equipment. Proper packing and labeling is required for all hazmat and radioactive sources.
