README for GLDAS_MOLTS_N1 data files Model output from Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) 1 degree simulation using Noah Land Surface Model. EOP1 period: starting at 00Z 1 July 2001 and ending at 21Z 30 September 2001. EOP2 period: starting at 00Z 1 October 2001 and ending at 21Z 30 September 2002. EOP3 period: starting at 00Z 1 October 2002 and ending at 21Z 30 September 2003. Files are organized into directories by field, and within each directory there is one data file for each EOP period per reference site. The files are ascii format, and each record is a single 3-hourly output value (real). Therefore there are 92 days x 8 recs/day = 736 records in each EOP1 file, 365 days x 8 recs/day = 2920 records in each EOP2 file, and 365 days x 8 recs/day = 2920 records in each EOP3 file. Some coastal and island reference site points did not align with GLDAS model points. In these cases the nearest point was used, if one was available (*), however, for two island locations there was no model point in the vicinity (N/A).
