Station Description:

General Description:
The Central Facility, located near Lamont, in north-central Oklahoma, houses the core instrumentation for the Southern Great Plains (SGP) site and is the center of operations for SGP experiments.
Broad hilltop, a few hundred meters west of a valley. The pasture had been terraced to some degree and "improved" several decades previously, but has returned to a more native mix of grasses and forbs. Vegetation is greater than hip deep (if ungrazed), and roots were visible through the depth of the access pits. A layer of sandstone begins 88 cm below the surface.
Station Operator:
DOE ARM
