AO2: DAY BEFORE: ??:??: While off airplane grabbing my bag it was announced to ppl on airplane that power would be shut down in a few minutes AO2 was on. When I got back to the airplane, I got back just in time to see the power go down. AO2 was HARD shut down. No gases were on. DAY OF: 16:30:~ Got on airplane and started filling dry ice. 16:45:~ USB ERRORS PROBLEM 17:25:~ VB program shows USB errors present. Unsure of cause of this, but suspect hard down the day before. Text reads: ****** 17:35:~ Restarted VB, but errors persisted. 17:40:~ Shut down AO2 computer. 17:48:~ SP to Cell light did NOT go out after ~8 minutes. So turned off O2 box power breaker. 17:49:~ Waited a minute or so and restarted O2 box/computer. 17:53:~ Hit play in VB. VB program seems to be taking a bit longer than usual to start up. 17:56:~ Noticed NCAR AO2 INSTRUMENT program had come up, probably a minute or two earlier. 17:57:~ NO USB ERRORS PRESENT. 19:30:~ Forced cal just before decent into Fairbanks. 19:31:~ Reset cal to 60 to include all of ascent out of Fairbanks if possible 20:12:~ Finished ascent out of Fairbanks, level at 36Kft. Forced cal; reset purge to 50. 22:40:~ Delayed cal to get full bottom leg. 22:42:~ Forced cal back. 23:09:~ Looked at AO2 window, and I saw LT on, with HS and LS purging, just very briefly. Then toggled back to AEROS and saw it was in sample, toggled back to AO2 and it was back at SA. I'm not sure if this was somehow just a delayed image on AO2, but it corresponded with a sudden drop of about 5 ppm in CO2, and of roughly 5 per meg in O2. NO indication of any change in AO2Stat, but I know what I saw. Thinking the dips are just coincidental. Had not been playing with cals for half an hour or so. 23:15? Delayed cal to get full ascent on first s-bound leg 23:48:~ Started cal back up, even though we haven't made it all the way to 45Kft. Changing rates of approach, and changes in plan to originally just go to 28 made this a long cal. Given up on getting whole profile now that we are at 60+ mins and would have 10 more to go at least before 45Kft 01:17:~ Little blip (down) in O2 on order of 15 per meg 02:17:~ Changed cal to 60 to catch some of descent into PANC. 02:20:~ Damnit. This keeps happening. Despite careful attempt to change to 650 before changing to 60, cal came in early. Perhaps has something to do with deleting the middle integer, and it momentarily assuming 6 to be the calint? Assumed manual control of calibration for next few minutes until landing. MED: 19:39:~ During Prepurge, changed purge to 20 secs on pos 26 in order to take flasks for missed approach into Fairbanks. So, flasks 1-25 are purged for 60 secs Flasks 26-32 are purged for 20 secs 23:53:40 Changed to 90/650 flow setting
