Two PMS probes were mounted in PMS canisters on the left wing pod. In the third probe position (top) has a Particle Volume Monitor (PVM) instrument that measures cloud drops and ice crystals. The large black window on this pod is for the Scanning Aerosol Backscatter Lidar (SABL).
