2D-C Images of Drizzle at Lowest Altitude

These images show much larger drizzle drops, up to 400um in diameter, in concentrations of 2 to 10 per liter. Higher concentrations occurred shortly after this time, but the sizes were much smaller (cf., time history, middle two panels).

These plots were all made using software developed by Chris Webster at NCAR/RAF. The software runs on Linux systems and was tailored for use with netcdf aircraft data files. ncplot, ncpp, and xpms2d are freely available through the Internet, where more information about software and downloads is on line.
