This is a single flux-PAM deployment near the middle of Table Mountain (north of Boulder, not in Golden) to support NCAR/NOAA lidar development. In particular, Volker Wulfmeyer requested that momentum, sensible, and latent heat flux measurements be made to be used to scale wind and moisture profiles (and their statistics). These profiles will be made by HRDL (Bob Banta) and by the mini-MOPA (sp?) which Volker has developed.
These systems are to be deployed together at the site "T-2" for a few days (possible longer) and then split, with HRDL going to the 30m antenna site (NE corner of the site) and mini-MOPA either staying at T-2 or going to F-6.
Since the entire site appears to be relatively homogeneous (natural grasses/ cactus with rocky soil), we selected a site approximately in the middle of Table Mountain to provide measurements which would be representative and appropriate for use in both lidar configurations. The sonic boom will point to the West, to optimize winds from the W and SE (and reject winds from the East).
Volker requested a sonic and krypton at 5m, a prop-vane at 10m, humitter and pressure port at 2m. We also will deploy a rain gauge (ETI) and licor to help us understand instrument problems, should they occur.
