Microfronts95 - CLASS Deployment
This was a study of the fine-scale structure and energy dissipation
associated with frontal systems which used both ASTER and CLASS systems.
The scales of interest during the March 1995 measurement period ranged
from convective plumes to the synoptic scale. The CLASS system was
used for the first time in an up-and-down mode, in which the balloon
was released several minutes into the flight and the sonde parachuted
down, to obtain two profiles through the planetary boundary layer for
each flight.
