Location of Field Program

The ASTER facility was deployed at the Diffusion Array on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation 80 km north of the town of Richland, Washington. (See Figures 1 and 2.) The FOOTPRINT92 research site was located at latitude 46.56 W, 119.58 N at an elevation of 230 meters. The Gable Butte, Washington quadrangle of the 7.5 minute U.S.G.S. topographic map shows the topography of the research area. (See Figure 3.)

Equipment arrived at the field site on 22 May 1992
Setup and checkout from 22 May - 1June 1992
Operational period 2 June - 29 June; Julian days 154 - 181.
Tear-down commenced 1 July 1992.
