ARM91: STATUS Messages: 20 Entries..

STATUS: 
 
	Everything is up and running. No spiking on 
the sonics. The licor.in sensor looks like it might be 
wired backward. Will look at some plots to decide. 
 

EXABYTE TESTS: 
 
	After putting the exabyte all back together, 08:00 GMT, 
I have run tape_init and tape_store a minimum of 5 times dumping 
the directories prop, psyc, uw, comp, rad. There has not been 
a failure. 
	While putting the unit back together, I re-routed the 
cable from the Exabyte to the computer such that it is not 
as close to the power transformer and fan as it use to be. 
Maybe this is where our problem was. 
	We'll continue to run more tests throughout the morning. 
 

IOP #4: 
 
	IOP #4 started at 13:00 GMT. This is a joint 
IOP with WISP. 
 
	System is up and running. All sensors are 
responding except for the pygreometers. They were removed 
yesterday morning for testing of the tdome/tcase measurements. 
If needed, they will be installed today. 
 

Status at 9:30 
cannot graph compwt 64 or graph_mean 64 u - all other graphs for JD 64 ok 
the error message is as follows for graph_mean 64 u

Status at 12:00 
most everything looks ok on winds, temps, cockpit etc. 
The pitch and roll of the 4m uw sonic are still showiing 
a slight sine wave shape - much less than a few hours ago. 
The 1m, 4m, and 7m twet bulbs have been thawing and freezing. 
 

Status at 2:30 
everything looks pretty much ok, the wet bulb on the 7m 
psyc has again thawed. 
 
 

STATUS: 
 
	System has been running very good for the 
last few hours. All sensors are running and giving 
good data. The psychrometers have their usual wet bulb 
problems at temps below zero. 
 

Status report 12:00, 7 March 1991 
 
Wet bulbs are frozen, spiking throughout the night on NCAR ATI, a bit 
of spiking on the Gill 
 
 

REMOTE STATUS: 
 
	Logging into aster from Boulder, the 
system is up and running. Temps and winds look 
ok. 
 

SENSOR STATUS: 
 
	All sensors looking good except for 
the ncar ati sonic. there were a few spikes 
during the night. 
 

Status check at 15:00, 8 Mar 91 
Everything look alright except possibly the 10 m Tdry 
Just a few spikes on NCAR comp 
 
 

Status at 19:30 , 8 Mar 91 
 
Backup finished, no apparent problems 
with any of the sensors or systems except: 
 The sodar which was not printing out this afternoon. 
     I restarted it at approx 17:30 
     I switched on the printer and recycled the computor and the monitor. 
 The 10 m Tdry which still appears to be out of line with the others of the 
     profile. 
 

Everything looks hunky-dory @10:35. 
One spike on NCAR ati. 
 
 

STATUS for jd 70: 
 
	System is up and running. The 4m 
prop is not responding, will try recycling power. 
The uw sonics had a few spikes over the night. 
The ncar ati had quite a few more. The other 
sonics looked ok. 
The 10m tdry still looks high. Depending on 
available people, may lower the mast today. 
 

Operations at 00:00 local time 
winds are gusting to 20 m/s , light snow is falling.

u.4m.uw 
u.10m.uw all seem to have lots of spikes 
10m anemometer is down (speed only - direction ok) 
 
 

Status at 4:30 A.M. local 
All processes are up and running. 
Wind speed has fallen off a bit, 
still gusting to about 16 m/s. 
Light snow did not last long. 
 u.ati.comp   slight spiking 
 u.nccar.comp  lots of spiking 
 u.4m.uw 
 v.4m.uw both look like lots of spiking  
but it is not present on c.4m.uw ??? 
 u.10m.uw 
 v.10m.uw are both noisey ( is evident on 
c.10m.uw ) 
10m anemometer is still down ( no speed ) 
 
 

STATUS 13:30 GMT: 
 
	System is up and running. Sensors 
look good except for 10m prop. 
Spiking on the ncar ati u component. 
 

STATUS UPDATE: 
 
	System running with no problems. 
The ncar ati has a number of spikes. Spikes 
also appear on the 4m uw sonic, v and u components. 
There are a few spikes on the 10m speed of sound. 
The 10m wind speed is still out. 
Also, the rotronic intercomparison unit. 
 

END OF IOP#6: 
 
	IOP #6 ended at 21:00 GMT. 
System was running with the same problems: 
spiking on ncar ati, no 10m prop speed, and 
a few spikes on uw sonics. 
 

STATUS: 
 
	System up and running. There were a few 
spikes, throughtout the night, on the uw sonics. 
The ncar ati had a lot. The 10m prop speed is still 
down. So is the rotronic comparison sensor.`
