3: Ceilometer, Site MAPR Ind town grav pit, Sun 19-Feb-2006 18:50:10 GMT, CL-31 ceilometer is now taking data
The CL-31 is now operational. Using the data line (as opposed to the maintenance line) and the rs-232 capability, the laptop is now reporting data through the CL-VIEW software. The matlab files from Vaisala are not yet installed, though matlab itself is installed.

The ceilometer was installed using the tilt feature because it has a built in tilt angle sensor and offers the following advantages:
- Protection in heavy weather conditions. The tilt feature protects the unit window from precip.
- Helps avoid direct sunlight tilting away from the south.

See pages 29/30 in vaisala users guide.

There was no data being recorded for the last few days. I think the LOGGING was not turned on and on the screen it says LOG and should be pushed. I also restarted the software and a new data file had been loaded.

Gary has the laptop on the net. I should not be used for web browsing in anyway what so ever as it hasn't been completely patched. There is no password.

There is a key for the internals to the internals of the ceilometer. It is placed underneath the work station monitor.
