Most configuration changes do not take effect until the affected modules are stopped and restarted. If the host name or networking options change, then the machine should be rebooted. If only the ISS modules change, then the ISS system needs to be restarted, such as by logging out and logging back in. The configuration script will prompt for a reboot when the configuration finishes:
================ The system has been reconfigured. If any of the root modules have changed, such as networking, then the system should be rebooted. If the host name changed, such as from iss1 to iss2, then the system should be rebooted. If only the ISS modules changed, such as disabling or enabling ingestors, then restarting the ISS programs by shutting down and logging back in again will suffice, but rebooting would not hurt either. If nothing changed, then why bother with rebooting? ================ Would you like to reboot? (y/n) [n] |
