NSF Weather Station Sensor Specifications

Barometer

The barometer is a capacitive silicon BAROCAP sensor.
Range:
600 to 1100 millibars
Resolution:
+/- 1 millibar reported
Accuracy:
+/- .5 millibars ( 0 to 30 degrees C)

Humidity Sensor

The humidity sensor is a capacitive thin film plymer HUMICAP 180 sensor.
Range:
0 to 100% Relative Humidity
Accuracy:
+/- 3 percent (0 to 90% RH)
+/- 5 percent (90 to 100% RH)

Temperature Sensor

The temperature sensor is capacitive ceramic THERMCAP sensor.
Range:
-52 to +60 degrees C
Accuracy:
+/- 0.3 degrees C (@ 20 Degrees C)
Output Resolution:
.1 degrees C

Wind Sensor

The wind sensor is a 2-D sonic anemometer.
Speed Range:
0 to 60 meters per second (0 to 134 miles per hour)
Speed Accuracy:
+/- .3 meters per second (2.2 miles per hour)
Output Resolution: .1 meter per second
Wind Range:
0 to 360 degrees
Wind Accuracy:
+/- 2 degrees
Ouput Resolution: 1 degree

Rain Gauge

The precipation measurement is made with a Vaisala RAINCAP sensor. The sensor is programmed to simulate a tipping bucket rain gauge. The sensor is capable of distinguishing hail from rain. The Rain Accumulation data is reset to zero every day at midnight.
Resolution:
0.01 mm
Collecting Diameter:
60 cm^2
